Ah, it’s time to get cozy and cover up! In COVERS, we highlight a musician or band covering songs by another musician (likely a popular musician). COVERS focuses solely on the musician who covers.  It is open to established musicians and musicians who may not be as well-known. In the 19th  edition of COVERS (2025), Dilfton (with Kevin Forest) delivers a compelling rendition of “Anal Beads”, originally performed by Pink Guy.

Dilfton, Anal Beads [📷: George Miller / Dilfton]“It goes pop-pop-pop when it’s coming out my asshole / And it feels good, and it feels good.” 😳 Um, excuse me? What goes pop, exactly? Farts? Logs 💩? 🤢 WE LISTEN, AND WE DON’T JUDGE! Before George Miller became Joji, he was Filthy Frank and Pink Guy, a YouTuber known for his colorful, outrageous brand of comedy.  Pink Guy wrote, dare I say, a wild-ass (🤭) song called “Anal Beads”.  If you were sheltered, or perhaps, more vanilla, anal beads are a sex toy.  Yes, Pink Guy wrote and performed a song about enjoying the pleasure of a sex toy, with a mishap… Swedish 🇸🇪 indie trio Dilfton, joined by Kevin Forest, covered it in 2020.

COVERS [📷: Brent Faulkner /The Musical Hype; Alan Cordero from Pexels]The sound of “Anal Beads” in the hands of Dilfton is raw and unrefined.  That suits the theme and lyrics, if we’re being honest. This sex toy means something to vocalist Dante Nelson Rådqvist, in all his pitchy glory. Rådqvist asserts, “In the darkest times / You’re there for me / These anal beads take care of me.” Again, we listen, and we don’t judge! You do you, boo!  Of course, things go south… too far south… The anus is a sensitive one where, if not careful, things can go left quickly. Sure, the male G-spot awaits 🫣 🫢, but again, careful, easy, etc. Over-shoving, “Now my ass is bleeding / Ass is bleeding, ass is bleeding,” Rådqvist sings, adding, “There ain’t nothing wrong with that.” 🤨 😬 😳 Well, anal fissures and such happen, but, one must be mindful of their 🍑 too. You only get one! “Anal Beads” is best taken with a grain of salt. It’s an odd, weird, and unusual record, but intriguing. If anal beads get it done for Pink Guy and Dilfton, who are we to judge?
