The host city of Northstar Meetings Group's Destination Midwest, Branson, Mo., is worth an extra 24 hours.
Tee Time
Carve out time to tee off at one of the many golf courses in the area. One gem: Named after Ozarks native and World Golf Hall of Fame member Payne Stewart, Payne's Valley Golf Course (above) is the first public-access layout designed by Tiger Woods. It provides a challenge to players of all levels with water features and large fairways.
Branson Bites
The Branson Landing Shopping Center is home to several new eateries. Ozarks Brasserie Restaurant and Bar serves French cuisine, such as short rib bourguignon, wild mushroom and artichoke crêpes, and duck confit poutine. With views of the White River, Bricktown Brewery offers craft beers, pizzas and more.
Nature Calls
Dogwood Canyon Nature Park is a 10,000-acre preserve in the Ozark Mountains featuring waterfalls, caves and clear-blue streams. Numerous activities are available for the outdoorsy set, such as horseback riding, trails for hiking and biking, trout fishing, and wildlife tours.
Pretty in Pink
For more outdoor fun, Pink Jeep Adventure Tours takes participants off the beaten path on a winding trip past lakes and landmarks in a custom pink Jeep Wrangler. The excursions, like the downtown-to-mountaintop and sunset tours, include an off-road journey to a panoramic view of Table Rock Lake.
All Aboard
The Titanic Museum allows "passengers" to experience life on the doomed ship. Explore the grand staircase, try to stand on sloping decks and discover Titanic artifacts.
