Carve out time to tee off at one of the many golf courses in the area. One gem: Named after Ozarks native and World Golf Hall of Fame member Payne Stewart, Payne's Valley Golf Course (above) is the first public-access layout designed by Tiger Woods. It provides a challenge to players of all levels with water features and large fairways.

Ozarks Brasserie Restaurant and Bar serves French cuisine, such as short rib bourguignon, wild mushroom and artichoke crêpes, and duck confit poutine. Dogwood Canyon Nature Park is a 10,000-acre preserve in the Ozark Mountains featuring waterfalls, caves and clear-blue streams. Numerous activities are available for the outdoorsy set, such as horseback riding, trails for hiking and biking, trout fishing, and wildlife tours.
