The City of Brotherly Love features a walkable convention district, rich history, a lively startup community and remarkable access to experts and leaders in the life sciences. What's more, Philadelphia was the only U.S. city to make National Geographic's list of the 25 Best Trips to Take in 2020.
The former Sheraton Philadelphia Society Hill has been renovated and rebranded as the Philadelphia Marriott Old City. The multimillion-dollar project was completed in January. The property offers Philadelphia's first M Club, for Marriott Titanium and Elite loyalty members, as well as more than 20,000 square feet of updated meeting space. The 364 guest rooms were redone and the fitness center was expanded. A new restaurant, Society Commons, has also debuted. The grandiose ballroom can accommodate as many as 550 attendees.
The 327-room DoubleTree by Hilton Philadelphia-Valley Forge has embarked on an $18.5 million project to renovate all guest rooms and the property's 25,000 square feet of meeting space. The sleeping rooms are being given a more contemporary style and will get new bedding, carpets, wall vinyl, artwork, refrigerators, 55-inch smart TVs, additional outlets and USB ports, and updated bathrooms. Three new conference rooms and an executive boardroom will be added to the existing meeting space, and the fitness room will be expanded. The project is scheduled to wrap up in June.
