Omni Hotels & Resorts has signed a development agreement with Midland Downtown Renaissance, a collection of Midland-based businesses and investors, to develop and manage a 135-room luxury convention hotel in Midland, Texas.

The Omni Midland Hotel, the company's 12th property in the state, will include about 15,000 square feet of meeting space, a 7,000-square-foot ballroom, a spa, a rooftop pool, a lobby bar with all-day dining, and a Bob’s Steak and Chop House.

"Our partnership with Omni empowers us to move forward with a dynamic development plan," said Dan Hord, partner at HEDLOC Investment Co. "This is the right time, the right place, with the right partner. Collaborating with Omni will help us transform this visionary concept into a reality and seize a unique opportunity to advance our community while leaving a lasting impact on our economic landscape."

Omni and Midland Downtown Renaissance have hired two partners with deep Texas roots to design the property. HKS Architects will be responsible for the hotel’s architecture, and Looney & Assoc. will handle the interior design. Additionally, the Design Agency has been tapped to create destination concepts for all the restaurants and bars within the hotel.

"It is an honor to welcome the Omni Midland Hotel to our collection of one-of-a-kind hotels and resorts." said Kurt Alexander, president of Omni Hotels & Resorts. "Each of our properties reflects the authentic spirit of its destination, and this hotel, situated at the heart of downtown, will play a vital role in its revitalization. Together with Midland Downtown Renaissance, we are committed to fostering a strong sense of community and eagerly look forward to sharing the vibrant essence of the city with our guests."
