Jay Kurdy, You Gave Me Music | Song Review 🎵

anchester’s MC Jay Kurdy has been building something interesting with his releases, and “You Gave Me Music” featuring Rachel Chambers confirms he’s hitting his stride. Following up “Wishes, Dreams & Reality” was never going to be easy, but this new track manages to expand on that foundation without losing what made the original work.

The opening guitar riff immediately sets a different tone from his previous material. There’s a confidence here that feels earned rather than forced. Jay’s decision to blend Hip Hop, Dance, and Reggae elements could have easily become a mess, but instead creates something that feels both familiar and fresh. The genre mixing works because it serves the song rather than showing off.

What strikes me most is how Jay’s flow has developed. His rhythmic choices feel more natural now, less like he’s trying to prove something and more like he’s found his pocket. Rachel Chambers brings a nice counterpoint to his energy without overwhelming the track. Their collaboration feels genuine rather than tacked on.

The production walks a fine line between polished and organic. That groovy guitar work throughout keeps things grounded while the beat structure gives it enough punch for summer playlists. It’s the kind of track that works equally well through headphones or at a party.

Jay’s comment about music being his escape comes through clearly in the performance. There’s a joy here that’s infectious without being overly saccharine. The track doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but it doesn’t need to. Sometimes the best music just makes you feel good, and ‘You Gave Me Music’ delivers on that promise.

This feels like an artist who’s stopped second-guessing himself and started trusting his instincts. The result is his strongest release yet
