Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort in Cherokee, N.C., will unveil a multimillion-dollar, four-year expansion project this fall. The development will add a fourth hotel tower with 725 guest rooms and seven suites, which will bring the total room count up to 1,833.
A brand new, 83,000-square-foot convention center will also debut in the fall. The Cherokee Convention Center will feature a 32,000-square-foot ballroom, exhibit halls, prefunction space and more. Once the facility opens, Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort will offer more than 115,700 square feet of total event space.
Several gaming amenities and food-and-beverage outlets have already debuted, with more to come in the following months. In March, a new sports-betting venue opened in partnership with Caesars Entertainment and William Hill. The Book features a 90-foot-wide TV, sports-betting kiosks and a raised VIP zone. Another new addition to the property is the World Series of Poker room, which offers 34 poker tables and eight-handed cash games.
New dining outlets include the Myst Bar and Lounge on the casino floor and the Wicked Weed Brewpub, which serves locally sourced craft beers and ciders with a stage for live entertainment.
"We are thrilled to see this project come to completion and to be able to offer our guests new amenities and offerings," said Brooks Robinson, regional senior vice president and general manger of the resort. "This expansion has been an integral component to our property and community's growth and helps us further show that Harrah's Cherokee Casino Resort is truly a destination that is unlike any other in the Carolinas."
