Fontainebleau Las Vegas Opens on the Strip

The 3,644-room luxury resort, nearly two decades in the making, will host Northstar's Incentive Live event April 28-30.

The Fontainebleau Las Vegas, a 67-story luxury megaresort and casino first announced 18 years ago, opened for business on the Las Vegas Strip on Dec. 13. The star-studded grand opening included celebrity appearances from Justin Timberlake, Tom Brady, Cher, Keith Urban and Lenny Kravitz.

The owners of the Fontainebleau Miami Beach originally conceived the project, subsequently abandoned the partially constructed site in 2009 during the Great Recession, and then reacquired it in 2021. Since then, construction has proceeded mostly on schedule, while buzz has steadily built for the 3,644-room resort's debut.

Fontainebleau Las Vegas covers nearly 25 acres adjacent to the Las Vegas Convention Center’s West Hall. The building’s architecture and design pay homage to the ethos of the original Fontainebleau Miami Beach, while forging its own Vegas-touched luxury identity. The property offers 550,000 square feet of meeting space; 150,000 square feet of gaming space; a 14,000-square-foot fitness center and a 55,00-square-foot spa with 44 treatment rooms; a 6-acre pool district; and 36 high-profile restaurants — including from award-winning and Michelin-starred chefs.

Food, Beverage and Entertainment

The collection of restaurants now taking reservations includes:

  • Chyna Club, serving eclectic Chinese cuisine from Hakkasan and Wagamama founder Alan Yau;
  • Don's Prime, featuring classics with a twist in a highly refined atmosphere;
  • Komodo, a high-energy restaurant from Groot Hospitality specializing in Southeast Asia cuisine;
  • KYU, the newest outpost of the Asian-inspired barbecue hot spot currently open in Miami, New York and Mexico City;
  • La Fontaine, a daytime fine-dining spot specializing in French cuisine;
  • Mother Wolf, the Las Vegas debut of pasta master and chef Evan Funke, known for L.A. staples Felix, Funke and Mother Wolf;
  • Papi Steak, a steak house experience from David "Papi" Einhorn, expanding from the original Miami location;
  • The Tavern, an energetic, upscale bar and restaurant featuring American classics with a California touch;
  • Vida, an American bistro serving breakfast and lunch; and
  • Washing Potato, a whimsical dining destination from restaurateur Alan Yau that specializes in Hong Kong chow and Cantonese comfort street foods.

Among the bars debuting with the resort's opening are Après, inside the promenade; the agave-focused Azul; Bleau Bar and Solo, on the casino floor; Collins, in the main lobby; the live-music speakeasy Nowhere; and Tavern, a sports-driven bar in the property's sports book.

For nightlife, LIV Las Vegas will debut tomorrow. The first expansion of the iconic LIV Miami Beach, Groot Hospitality's new outpost promises unforgettable experiences in the 50,000-square-foot venue, with a main stage clearly visible from all vantage points within. Ultra-exclusive touches such as intimate banquette areas and private skyboxes with table service await VIPs.

A Destination for Art

The resort spotlights its sizable contemporary fine-art collection, covering a variety of disciplines, from immense murals to kinetic sculptures throughout the property. Among the artists featured in the opening collection are sculptor and muralist Urs Fischer, multimedia painter Richard Prince, sculptor Gonzalo Lebrija, kinetic-multimedia artist Breakfast, sculptor Ivan Navarro, photographer and AI artist Tim Tadder, and more than a dozen other fine-art photographers.

“Art, architecture and design are key components of our Fontainebleau culture and guest experience,” noted Fontainebleau Development president Brett Mufson. “The caliber of artists that we have collaborated with to create never-before-seen pieces that will be talked about for generations is unprecedented. We are so proud to showcase them to the world and all Fontainebleau guests.”

First Meetings Industry Event

The first meetings industry event on the calendar at Fontainebleau Las Vegas is Northstar Meeting Group's Incentive Live, which will take place April 28-30 at the new resort. The annual hosted-buyer event will connect incentive professionals with hotels and resorts, cruise lines and tourism boards, as well as provide insight on the latest industry trends and best practices.
