Beginning Dec. 15, the Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, Fla., will offer a first-of-its-kind special exhibition of René Magritte and Salvador Dali, two of the world's most celebrated surrealists. "Magritte & Dali" will showcase exemplary works from the late 1920s to the early 1940s, a period when the controversial artists' careers overlapped.

The show will feature more than 30 specially curated pieces, including Magritte's "Le Baiser" ("The Kiss"), "La Magie Noire" ("Black Magic"), "L'Oiseau de Ciel" ("Sky Bird") and "Dieu N'est Pas un Saint" ("God Is No Saint"). Dali will be represented with significant works such as "Surrealist Object Functioning Symbolically -- Gala's Shoe," "Portrait of Gala" and "Old Age, Adolescence, Infancy (The Three Ages)".

"Rene Magritte is a quintessential figure in the surrealist movement and is celebrated around the globe," noted Dr. Hank Hine, the Dali's executive director. "We are proud to provide the first and only opportunity to see his and Dali's works displayed together in the U.S."

"Magritte & Dali" will run through May 19, 2019, at the Dali Museum, ranked among the top such institutions in the U.S. by TripAdvisor. The 20,000-square-foot venue can host private events for groups ranging from 20 to 650 attendees.
